Since July 1985, Hill Country Family Services (HCFS), a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, has provided food and emergency financial support to Kendall County families in need. We are able to provide this level of service because of the overwhelming generosity of organizations and individuals throughout the area. Our clients include families at or below the poverty line; families and individuals experiencing unexpected challenges like serious health problems or loss of employment; children, seniors, veterans from all military branches who provided service from as long ago as WWII; the homebound; terminally ill; pregnant; and the homeless.
In Calendar Year 2014, Hill Country Family Services’ Food Pantry served, on average, 943 unique individuals each month. We distributed 15,000 pounds of food each month, totaling 90 tons over the course of the year. In addition, HCFS provided $39,000 in emergency financial support to our residents who needed this critical service. HCFS provided our full breadth of services to all Kendall County residents in-need, regardless of race, color, sex, country of origin, or religious beliefs.
