Families may receive food once a month per household as long as they remain income eligible. Eligibility is based on total gross household income according to USDA guidelines; however, no documentation is required to receive food from HCFS. Families may also receive an additional emergency food distribution once a year if needed. As partners of the San Antonio Food Bank, HCFS must update household information and renew family eligibility once each calendar year.
From time to time, the food baskets may include items that you do not need or use (e.g., food allergies). Feel free to bring the item back and inform the staff and volunteers of your preferences.
Diapers and other baby care items may be requested by qualifying families once each month during the monthly food distribution.
